NaBloPoMo: A ‘Shady’ poem

Decided to have a bit of fun with the poetry challenge today…well, the muse left me last night…but it’s the same thing. When communicating with Chris via MSN, I used the alias Shady Wilbury, because I was being careful about privacy. Saw this prompt on the Poetic Asides site, and this came to me…dedicated to her, as ever, with love.

A ‘Shady’ poem

I was younger then

I didn’t want you to know me

So I called myself Shady

when we spoke.

It became my stage name

Not that I go anywhere near a stage now

Because I haven’t got the time.

But in my heart, I remain Shady Wilbury

Because of you.

Wishing you peace and strength on your journeys,
